Jon Ballard MInstRE
Jon owns & runs Minley Developments Ltd – forming in July 2017. Based in the Black Country, Birmingham & Employing 4 staff directly and with an army of specific trades to call upon, whole project coverage can be achieved under one roof.
Jon is an experienced and winning Project Manager, Leader & Strategic Policy Director; with a track record of completing projects both on time and within budgets in harsh and hostile environments. Retiring in Feb 2014 from the British Army as a Major after 19 years, having held many high profile and demanding roles including Construction Project Manager (many sites around the world), International Training Development Director (Afghanistan) & Commander (UK) Bomb Disposal (Iraq 2007). Jon is married with two young daughters.
Site Foreman & Senior Carpenter
Gareth started carpentry in 1999 before moving into management in 2006. Gareth has a wealth of experience working for main contractors; he has managed residential house builds through to £9m care home projects. Gareth is multiskilled throughout the building trade with a wide range of knowledge and expertise to overcome any problems that may arise during a project.
Gareth’s weekends are currently spent refurbing his 1920’s home! Gareth also loves mountain biking; he finds it a great way to relax and switch off.
Experienced Carpenter & Equipment Manager
Shaun started his apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery at the age of 16; he started by working in schools and hospitals doing maintenance & refurbishment works. Upon successfully completing his apprenticeship, Shaun transitioned into New-Build site works and now works with Minley Developments. Over the years, Shaun’s skills base has grown from his core carpentry and now includes plumbing, painting & minor electrical works.
Shaun has over 14 years construction experience through many working environments.
Purchasing & Waste Manager
James started in construction in 2013 working for a leading retirement home builder. Having worked up to Site Manager in 2020 working on a variety of projects from £750k to £6m – James earned a reputation for clawing back time against programs with a good eye for finishing detail. James is also a multi skilled craftsman able to undertake almost any work with top quality workmanship.
James unwinds by spending time with his family, a wife and two young children. Any spare time is usually spent on the PC gaming or on the Golf Course.
Sarah joined Minley Developments in March 2021; she has worked across various industries including Legal, Sales and Hospitality – delivering exceptional client service at the heart of everything that she does.
Sarah enjoys running but admits this is to mostly balance out her love of food and wine!
Office & HR Manager
Home Grown in the Back Country, Helaena has been involved with family owned Building Development Companies from a young age. Amassing over 25 years’ experience in administration, Management & Quality Assurance across all types of industries in both public & Private sectors. Helaena spends most of her time ensuring the smooth running of the business from behind the scenes. Helaena likes Industrial Heritage & the unusual – including old American cars.
